Wild Things, Wild Places with Jane Alexander

WWBA presents its 2017 program series, Salut au Monde. Named after Whitman’s poem of the same name, this program aims to bring the world to the Whitman stage. Wild Things, Wild Places with Jane Alexander on December 10, 2017 at 2 – 4 p.m. marks the final installation in this series.

Author and actor Jane Alexander joins us to discuss her book Wild Things, Wild Places: Adventurous Tales of Wildlife and Conservation on Planet Earth. Alexander will share her keen insight into issues facing the planet’s most endangered species and what is being done to prevent their extinction. Q&A and book signing to follow.

Jane Alexander is a Tony Award and two-time Emmy Award winner as well as the former director of the National Endowment for the Arts. She first gained notice in her Broadway debut in 1968 in The Great White Hope, and went on to perform on the screen, stage, and TV. Alexander serves on various boards, including the Wildlife Conservation Society, the National Audubon Society, Project Greenhope, the National Stroke Association, and Women’s Action for Nuclear Disarmament, and has received the Israel Cultural Award and the Helen Caldicott Leadership Award.
