Founded in 1973, the Long Island Poetry Collective (LIPC) is one of the oldest poetry organizations on Long Island. The LIPC has sponsored a weekly peer poetry workshop held at the Huntington Library for over 30 years. A second LIPC workshop was recently started, to offer a place for poets displaced by the closing of their library-based workshops, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Both workshops are currently held on Zoom, hosted by Kate Dickson, one of LIPC Board members.
