High School Community Service
WWBA is pleased to offer Students age 16 and older opportunities to fulfill their community service hours.
Administrative
Students may assist in Administrative tasks such as mailings, data entry, visitor tallies, and research. These hours are after school on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Students are encouraged to bring their laptops to assist in research projects.
Programs and Events
Students may assist at programs and events by greeting and directing visitors and guests, staffing welcome tables, assisting with setup and breakdown of event refreshments, chairs, and equipment. Hours may be weekend afternoons or evenings, or weekday evenings.
Gardening
Students may assist with gardening projects such as planting flowers, weeding, pruning, power washing the sidewalks, and general grounds maintenance.
Bench Restoration
Students may assist with restoring and preserving our teak benches—sanding, staining, or painting the wooden benches.
Own Projects
We are happy to work with students who have ideas for a particular project—building birdhouses, designing a section of the garden, adding to our Whitman historic information with their research paper, etc.
